Hope someone can help me with this.
I use MS Office Pro 97. I can't get PowerPoint to print with the
image centered on a page. The page prints consistently off-center to
the left approximately 1/4". Not much, but still very annoying in
final form.
Paper size settings and the proper print drivers (I use a Hewlett
Packard DeskJet 820Cse) are all correct.
Is there some modification I can make to an *.ini file to cause the
page to print correctly? Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Frank

Nope, there are no ini mods you can make, but you can play games with PPTs
head to correct the situation somewhat.

The problem is that PPT automatically centers the slide image on the
printer's imageable area, not on the printer's page size. Since your
inkjet has uneven unprintable margins, the printout will be off center.

Instead of printing slide pages, experiment with notes pages instead.

View, Master, Notes Master. Delete the notes text placeholder (on a COPY
of your presentation please, if you normally use the Notes pages for their
intended use). Ditch any other placeholders you don't need, then resize
the slide image placeholder to more or less fill the page less the maximum
of the two printer margins on both sides. IOW, if your printer's margins
were 1 and 2", you'd want to allow a 2" margin on both sides in the Notes
master.

A few test printouts should get you on your way.
