One of PowerPoint's strongest drawing features has always been freeform
because you can create any shape you need, but in PowerPoint 2007, this
feature has been crippled by the inability to draw straight lines (lines at a
0 or 90 degree angle) by holding shift while clicking to create new points.

Please restore the ability to hold shift to draw lines with freeform that
are perfectly straight. In the current version, I end up with lines at 2
degree angles when all I want is a flat line. While I'm sure someone out
there needs to draw a shape with odd angles, I'm willing to bet there are a
lot more of us who need to use standard 15 degree increments to draw our
shapes. Please help! PowerPoint 07 is worthless to me without this feature!

There's a hotfix for this.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I tried the hotfix, and while it did fix the
issue for lines and holding shift, it did not fix the issue for freeform and
holding shift. Freeform still does not respond to holding shift.

You are correct, it doesn't. Sorry -- forgot to mention that. It's a good
suggestion, and I continue to hope for improvements to those areas in
service packs and future releases.
