I think it would be a good idea to have bookmarks in PowerPoint. I have a
presentation that contains hundreds of slides. I am usiing this material over
several weeks. It would be handy to be able to bookmark the slide I finished
with so i don't have to scroll down.

Yes it would. If you know were each session starts and stops, you could set
up customized shows for each segment, and just run the one you want.

Timothy,
You can still get this done in the following manner.
1. Select shape or text that you want to set a bookmark to.
2. Select File | Properties... and activate the Custom tab.
3. Type a name for the bookmark.
4. Tick 'Link to content'. The value that is listed in the adjacent dropdown
box when you tick 'Link to content' is a reference to your selection.
5. Click Add
6. Click OK to close the Properties dialog.

Now that you have created a bookmark, you can jump to it as follows:
1. Select Edit | Goto Property...
2. Click the Property name from the dialog (this is the name you gave to the
bookmark).
3. Click on Go to.

Shyam,

That clears up one of the great mysteries of what that "go to property" item
is for. Amazing!

Hi Shyam

I cant get this to work , what could I be doing wrong. All is well until
"link to content" is always greyed out (as is "go to property" of course)

Shyam:
Thanks. Once I figured out that the text had to be highlighted it worked
perfectly. I like this also because I can cut and past the shape to a new
slide and the "Go to property" will take me to the new place.
