Does it print from other applications?
Where'd the font come from (ie, who created it?).
There are an awful lot of trashy TT fonts out there ...

Steve, the font source I do not know. I just went in and changed the first
slide to Arial, and cleared out the super/subscript, and tried printing in
both greyscale and B+W. No luck. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
rob otten

Is anything printing at all? Or is it just the fonts?

Steve, correct. Even with Arial, no changes.

The only thing that prints is the border style with a title. The printers
are HP LJIV with PS and 15 MB, and HP DJ1120 CSE. I have reinstalled the
printers, and the drivers are up to date. It is not a timeout issue.

TIA, Rob

See above message, but the border style is printing, along with the Title.

Thanks, Rob

So the font is irrelevant; that got us a little off track, but no matter.
Let's concentrate on the HP for now. That's what I have - very reliable
printer, real Adobe PS, no problems there.
For starters, are you certain you're printing in PS mode? HP tends to
install the PCL drivers if you don't thump 'em hard during the install.

What else is on the slide?
What do you see when you choose View, Black & White?

What happens if you copy the slide to a new presentation and print that?

What if you print from another computer, ideally one with a different OS?

Steve,

I just did a change to the DESIGN, and noticed that the ORIGINAL DESIGN is
not on my PC. As the PPT was created by someone else, I was not aware of
this. Also, I figured that by saving the PPT, the Design would be embedded.
Apparently NOT.

I changed the design to one that is NATIVE on my PC, and now it is printing
everything. This isn't what I expected; however, the new PPT with the local
Design Template does PRINT.

Is this a KNOWN issue?

TIA, Rob

Ah, I was going to suggest looking at the B/W settings, but I see above
you're on your way to working out a problem with the template.

No, it's not a known issue. Not to yr hmbl srvnt, in any case.
By design, do you mean the template ( a *.POT file?)
The template info is indeed embedded in each presentation. In fact, you can
save it out of the presentation any time you like by saving as a template.

However, if the original template was in some way corrupted, then applying a
different copy of the same file or a different template could well have
fixed something.

Heck, the way PPT deals with Postscript, the template wouldn't necessarily
need to be corrupt ... in some cases, PPT gets wonko and fouls up the PS
output itself ... at least in some versions, it doesn't always save and
clear the printer's graphics state when it should. That can lead to stuff
going bye-bye or coming out in unexpected colors.

Steve, the DESIGN TEMPLATE on the original was ANGLES. This one doensn't
appear in my Office 2000 version. The Original shows on the screen, but
didn't print.

I don't know the cause, however, the Template change solved the problem.

Thanks to everyone for their assistance.

Glad it's working for you. If for some reason you need to use the Angles
template, you can probably open the original and do File, Save As. Choose
Design Templates (*.POT) in the Save As dropdown, then save the POT in the
folder PowerPoint defaults you too.

You should then be able to apply the newly saved template to any
presentation you like.

Of course, if it's bunged and causes misprints, that may not be the smartest
thing to do ... <g>

As far as I remember, Jester comes with Broderbund's PrintShop Deluxe.
