Hi,

I inserted an animated gif and play it in PP2000. My animated gif will loop
once only (confirmed by looking at in IE). But in PP2000, it iterates
forever. Is there anything that I can do?

Regards,

Wai Wong.

I'm afraid the only thing that fixes it is to convert it to AVI, or upgrade
to PowerPoint 2002, which does recognize the single iteration. You can use
GIF Construction Set or Animation Shop (comes with Paint Shop Pro), as well
as other animation products to do the conversion.

Stop That Animated GIF

Q. I'm trying to insert this animation GIF in PowerPoint 2000 and it
animates fine in PowerPoint - I want to play the GIF once, but PowerPoint
plays it over continuously.

A. Create 2 gifs - one animated and one regular - create two identical
slides -
for the first slide, set transition to none - introduce the animated gif on
the first slide - now, set the transition time of the first slide to exactly
the amount of time you want the animated gif to play. In the second slide
place the regular gif at the same place.

Use "Insert" tab, then choose "Video", then change "Video Files" to "All Files" then choose your gif.
Next choose gif and choose "Animation" tab and choose "Play" and in "Timing" make sure Repeat is "(none)".
