I have a text box that I want to hyperlink to a new slide, but I want the
animation to play on the first slide before following the hyperlink.

One way to do this would be to have two copies of the slide with the text
box. The hyperlink would simply jump to the second copy of the slide. The
second copy of the side would be set to (1) have the animation happen
automatically, and (2) advance to the next slide automatically (the next
slide being the place you originally wanted to hyperlink to). Your users
won't even know that you have created an extra slide. To them, it will look
just like the effect you describe.

Is the new slide the "Next Slide" ?

If so, simply set your "Slide Transition" to "Advance Slide" >
Austomatically after ) seconds.

Once your animation is complete it will advance.

Is it is not the next slide, you can use the same theory with a custom slide
show.

I am looking to do this same sequence of actions, but in a slightly different manner. I had a PowerPoint presentation that this worked with, but it doesn't seem to translate to Google Slides. I have created a Jeopardy board with individual images for the dollar values. When clicking on the value, I want it to link to the slide later in the presentation. This I have working. What I cannot get to work is for the image with the dollar value to disappear so we know not to use that category value again.

And how do you make that duplicate slide advance automatically? The only way I know of is to publish or hit slideshow and make every slide autoplay. Is there a work around to get one specific slide to advance automatically?
