I am running PPT2007 and on a slide in my main deck I hyperlink to show
another PPT file. In PPT2003 it would fade nicely to the hyperlinked file,

You have fade through black as your default fade.

Highlight all the slides you want to fade normally.

In the pane that contains the Outline and Slides tabs, click the Slides tab.
On the Animations tab, in the Transition To This Slide group, click the fade
transition. If it doesn't appear, click the More button which is below the
scroll bar to the end of the section.

Fade without black is the first selection in the Fades and dissolves section
that opens.

Yep. That is how I have had it set up. I have been using this product for
some time. I don't have "fade thru black" as my default.

ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM?

I am having the same issue. It appears Slides has had some recent UI updates, however, I can't find anywhere on how to fade from White instead of Black. Are any solutions working for anyone out there? Thanks

I found a solution. To have the slides fade from white, use the Dissolve slide transition instead of Fade. I hope this helps!
