Hello!

Is there any freeware-tool (executable file) to open a
powerpoint-presentation in the viewer ppview32.exe?
E.g. you have a "launch.exe". You double-click on it and the
presentation "start.ppt" is played in the ppview32.exe

Not that I'm aware of - but you can create a text file with the command and
save it as autorun.bat or similar.

Hi!

Thanks for your answer. I tried this before, but there is one big problem: The
initial ppt-file which is loaded by the start.bat has links to other ppt-files
in the same directory. When I click on one of these links I get the error
message: "Invalid Link" (roughly translated from German). This only occurs when
I try to open it by this bat-file. When I open the ppview32.exe manually and
then choose the starting ppt-presentation, the link is working well!
WHY?

Can you try creating a .lst file - a text file which PowerPoint supports and
include the name of your presentation within that.

Thereafter, in the bat file, change the statement to ppview32.exe xyz.lst

Try making sure that the PC's default directory is set to the directory
where the PPT files live.
In other words,

CD \MyFolder
Start \Path\To\Viewer\PPView32.exe MyFile.ppt

or along those lines.

Howdy,

I created an exe app to launch files from Flash projectors, which sounds
similar to what you're seeking. Since I'm such a hack, I had no intention of
charging real money for my yucky code, so it's freeware. :) It may work for
your needs. It's available for download from http://www.flashgeek.com/.

Hope that helps,
Rick

Hi Rick!

Great tool! But the problem is, that you just can launch a file (e.g. start.pps)
and not a program. If I write "ppview32.exe start.ppt" in your ini-file, it does
not work! Is there any chance to get this, too?

Tim,

Hmmm. Let me bang on it a little. If I come up with something, I'll post. If
anyone has any bright ideas, please feel free to enlighten me.
