The below discussion pertains to my need to add screen tips to a hyperlink.
In an earlier version of PowerPoint I would create a hyperlink using Action Settings. After I created the hyperlink, I would right click the object and select edit hyperlink and the "Edit Hyperlink" window would open. Then I would select screen tip and type in what I wanted.
Now with 2003, I do the same thing. However, several things happen.
1) It works just like I described it above - but not often.
2) When I right click an object and select "Edit Hyperlink" the "Action Settings" window pops up and I can't get to the screen tip.
3) Sometimes if I save the briefing then reopen it, the object that caused me the problem in 2 above would work fine and display the "Edit Hyperlink" window. But other times it would not.
4) Even stranger, sometimes when I right click on object and select Hyperlink instead of Action Settings I get the "Action Settings" window instead of the "Insert Hyperlink" Window.
Any suggestions/ideas on what is happening, and more importatntly, how to fix it?

OK. One thing to check is whether the problem seems tied to linking to slides whose
title includes one or more commas. Possibly other punctuation.
Are you applying the link to a shape, or a selection of text within a shape?
