Help needed please on how to go about drawing a 'bell' curve (standard
deviation curve?). Ideally, I want to chop this curve vertically into a
number of sections and colour each section below the curve. Can anyone
help or have a file with this curve?

Thanks!!

Charles.

Charles,
You could creat a line chart in Graph or Excel and ungroup it. Use the
Smooth line checkbox to smooth it out.

Or, you could use PPT's Bezier curves, which are available under
Draw/Edit Points. I often draw the curves by hand and then shape them
using Edit Points.

For the colors underneath the curve, I'd then draw lines (using
freeform) that mimic the shape of the curve on top and have straight
lines coming down. Put a horizontal line at the bottom to "close" the
lines, and you can fill as an autoshape.

I've posted a free one up for anyone who needs it.
It acts just like any other PowerPoint object. So you can customize the look, feel and yes, bell height and width. Have at it, and enjoy!!

Go to http:www.macmillandesign.com/bellcurve and just download it.
