Does anyone know how or what program I should use in order
to turn a powerpoint presentation (.ppt) to an executable
file (.exe) where anyone can view it regardless?

I'm already aware of the viewers, but they would have to
install that first in order to use it. I'm trying to get
around that.

Well, you could create an autorun CD which includes the Viewer, but
doesn't require any installation on the recipients' part. (It doesn't
install anything in the background, either.)

If you need this for email, the closest available is Pack and Go. That
actually creates 2 files, and the user would have to unpack on his/her
end. And it would probably be too big to email.

Alternatively, you could convert to a Flash file, which could be turned
into an EXE. Various methods of doing that are listed on the autorun CD
third-party information on my site. http://www.echosvoice.com
http://www.angelfire.com/va3/vic3/ also does this. (Vic is active on
some e-lists I frequent, and I suspect he's quite reliable. <g>)

Whether you have a plain graphical presentation or one with many linked
files of varied format, one practical method that works, packs all required
files into one compact file and self-executes, is putting the presentation
( plus related or linked files, if any ) within a folder, winzipping the
contents and then converting the regular
zip file created to a self-extracting .exe with WINZIP SELF - EXTRACTOR.
This will not only allow you to have all the presentation ingredients under
the same roof and "invisibly
packed" but will also permit you to deliver a self executing presentation by
using Winzip's command line option, where you instruct the PP Viewer.exe to
run the .pps file and all the paraphernalia linked and packed therein. If
you want to enable it in order to run it without PPoint, you must include in
the pres directory all the PP viewer system files and instead you'd place in
the command line " PPview32.exe mypres.pps "

What this
actually does is that when the WinZip .exe is clicked, the PP Viewer .exe
file is activated, which turn activates the .pps ( or the Ppview32.exe that
would then activate the .pps ) ; all presentation
files unpack to the same folder ( I use TEMP ) and the .pps starts running
once all the files are in the same directory. Besides, you can also include
some welcoming or
instructional text in Winzip's Self-Extractor opening
window.

In this case, of course, I'm employing WINZIP, a common software. If you
want to be more thorough ( for example, to include file deletion from TEMP
once the pres is viewed ), there are many installation compilers that will
do this for you.

See if this is what you want.
http://www.autorun-autoplay-tools.com/download-power-
launch2.htm

This has the same problem that the viewer does, in fact
it uses the viewer, it won't play all the animation that
PP2002 has. It does have an autostart included. You can
download a trial program.
