I am researching the effectiveness of PowerPoint as used in college lectures.
I am not concerned with the technical aspects of the application, but rather
the thoughts behind its development and its intended use to enhance a college
lecture. I welcome any thoughts or suggestions of individuals to contact.
Thank you.

This site: http://www1.umn.edu/ohr/teachlearn/workshops/powerp/
has the best documentation I've seen on that subject.

I'm a big supporter of using PowerPoint in the Classroom.

That's quite a broad question and really, one that's not possible to answer
without knowing your criteria for effectiveness.

PowerPoint is a very flexible tool for assembling graphics, text, charts and
multimedia elements like sound and video into an easy to use and easy to display
form.

A presentation assembly tool, in short.

The results (and their effectiveness) hinge more on the skill of the PowerPoint
user and/or presenter than on the tool itself.

Check out my blog for a handful of links to articles regarding your
topic.

Search within the page for "college" or "university".

Try in a little while, though. My #$%@& web host seems to be down at
the moment. Mmph.
