Slide Transition: Removing Rehearsed Timings

This problem is driving me insane. I rehearsed and saved my slide transition
timings on each slide for a large training presentation. Changes needed to
be made, and the amount of seconds before the revised slides change still
have their old timings, and I can not get them to change. For example, one
slide used to take 35 seconds before changing. After re-recording my
narration (a .wav) file, I reinserted the new narration (25 seconds long),
and now I want the slide to change after 25 seconds. So, I re-set the
transition to occur at 25 seconds, but it still changes after 35 seconds.
Then I changed the Automatically After box to read 00.00 seconds, thinking it
would automatically change when the 25 second .wav file finished playing.
The original slide transition timings are set in stone. Does anyone know how
to fix this problem??

XP / 2003. Since posting, I tried a trick. I hid all slides except one I
knew I wanted to change. Then "rehearsed" the timing for the one slide,
then saved the time to 24 seconds. The slide transition time did not change
- it still waits 35 seconds to move on. Do you know how to totally wipe out
previously saved Rehearsed Timings for every slide? I wish I had never used
the feature. I reset every slide to Advance After 00.00, yet the original
timings are still present.

I never use that feature but maybe go to slide show > set up show and uncheck
"use timings if present"

Thanks, John. I tried that previously, and when you uncheck that box, it
defaults to "manual" transition. But, I changed it to manual, saved it,
closed it and reopened it, hoping the rehearsed timings would be wiped out,
but once changed back, the original rehearsed timings are still set. I was
able to fix one slide by totally removing the sound file, then reinserting
it, and it worked, but I got lucky, and it was only 1 side out of 38 that
fixed. Once again, I am dreading to re-create the slides. Lesson learned to
never use the Rehearsed Timings feature again, and to just leave the Advance
After setting to 00! Thanks again for your attention.

Have you tried to change your timing AND PRESS the Entry Key?

I have tried that, but most commonly, I press the TAB key move the cursor out
of the timing field. I will purposely press the enter key to see if that
works, too. Thank you.

Go to the very very bottom of your Powerpoint, go right above the Draw button. There is 5 pictures. Choose the 4th picture, the one with 4 squares. Click on it. It should take you to a place where your slides are all little rectangles. Then two rows beneath your toolbar is a column that says Random Transition then you go all the way right and you see Common Tasks. There is two arrows next to it. Choose the second arrow. Go to Add or Remove Buttons. Then scroll down to Rehearse Timings. Uncheck it, then you deleted your Rehearsed Timings!
