Hey Gang,

Getting ready to include a bunch of narration in a set of presentations and
I need to know the best method to get the highest quality sound files at the
smallest file sizes in PowerPoint. Got any recommendations on microphones,
software, file types, etc?

Bill:
Take a look at Real Presenter. They have a freebie version you can try out.
Same company that makes Real Audio. With a small cam, you can add video of
you talking as you narrate. As for microphones, get a good headset
mic...Shure is the best and most expensive. Also a good soundcard with a
software mixer can help.

The url for real presenter is

Thanks, Geetash! Knew you'd come through! However, I did not have a
Microphone Settings that I could find. The mic is working, but the sound is
about 25% of the normal voice level (very faint). I have checked all
settings (that I know of) and all seems okay. Guess I will go out and buy a
good Shure and try it out.

Did you by chance dblclick on the Volume control, in your Sys Tray, and then select, Options, Properties, then Recording, and then adjust the control for you mic?

No I didn't, but now I did!  Thanks.  Still need to get a better mic for recording, but at least I'm getting out what I put in (garbage in = garbage out) <VBG>!

Thanks, Mike.
