Is there a way to insert a picture into multiple slides by only inserting it
once?

I can get it in multiple locations on the same slide by using 'fill effects'
for two grouped rectangles, but can you group objects from separate slides?

Thanks

Hm. This is an interesting question, and one I don't think I have an
answer for.

If you need the image on the same spot on multiple slides, you could put
it on the master slide. Use View/Master/Slide Master to get to that. But
somehow I suspect you already know that, and it's not going to work for
what you want. :-)

I keep thinking of linking a picture, but that still wouldn't get you to
multiple slides--you'd still have to insert the image multiple times.

If you wanted to make a number of copies of the image, you could use a
batch import process to insert it on a number of slides at once.
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00050.htm lists a number of options
to help with this.

Is the reason you're asking this to speed up production, or are you
concerned about file size? If it's file size, be aware that PPT's smart
in this respect--if you insert the same image multiple times, PPT
actually points back to the original image and doesn't keep increasing
the file size for each subsequent insertion.

No, but if you insert it and position it once, you can select and copy it.
Then you can hop from slide to slide hitting CTRL+V on the slides where you
want the image to appear.

Yep. The left hand a-doing CTRL+V and the right a-doing PAGE DOWN. You can
zip right through 'em.
