I am looking for a way to have a continuously looping show with the ability
to have a sales person clip a button or push a key so they can manually
advance the slides, and then be able to set back to auto advance again after
they are done manually advancing.

I am using PPT2000 and my customer is using PPT97.

Thanks

I have one suggestion, although I am sure there is a better
solution...this is what I think. You can make two identical
presentations...but one is the "manual" presentation and the second is the
advance on it's own version. What you do is put a button on the "Manual"
presentaion that the sales person can click on and it goes to the same
slide but on the advance on its own presentation. On the Advance on your
own, also have a button that can be clicked by the employee so they can go
to the "manual" mode.

This functionality is built in to PPT. You just need to flip a couple
switches, so to speak.

1. Slide Show/Set Up Show. Select "Loop until escape." Make sure the
"Use Timings if Present" radio button is checked.

2. In Slide Sorter view, select all the slides using CTRL+A. In Slide
Show/Slide Transition, choose both Advance "on mouse click" and
"automatically after." Put the desired time in the box.

Now you can advance using the spacebar or not. If you hit the spacebar
before the automatic transition time you set, your presentation will
advance. If you sit and wait for the automatic transition to kick in, it
will advance automatically.

Try a sample presentation with 5-second timings and you'll see what I
mean. Or I can send you the one I just made.
