I have a presentation with action buttons on each side. A presentation made
for an information kiosk. The action buttons take the reader from one page to
another.

But now, when the reader is done and leaves the kiosk, I want the
PP-presentation to return to its first page. In other words, I want it to
return to the first page automatically after a specified amount of time of
inactivity has elapsed. How do I do that?

Hi,

Go to Slide Show Menu, Click Setup Slide show menu

In the show option, Check "Loop Continuously until ESC" option

L O Karlsson,

I believe it should automatically return to the first slide after a set
period (that you cannot change) of inactivity.

Kiosk mode slide shows in Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 used to reset to the
first slide after a period of inactivity. Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 (aka
PowerPoint XP) has lost this feature. Kiosk mode slide shows in PowerPoint
2002 don't reset any more. Kiosk Assistant brings back that feature to
PowerPoint 2002.

PowerPoint won't automatically return after *inactivity*.

You can, however, use action buttons to link to Custom Shows (instead of a
slide). That way, when the Show is complete, you can set it to Show and
Return to the Home page. A Custom Show comprises a specific set of slides.
You can create custom shows in Slide Show > Custom Show.

You could, conceiveably, set the last slide in each Custom Show to
automatically transition after a specified amount of time (it would return to
Home Page), but it would transition regardless of activity or inactivity.
