Ever since installing Office X, I’ve experienced screen redraw
problems while editing slides. Moving a text block causes "ghost"
images of the text block handles/outlines to remain behind. Worse,
attempting to set tab styles in text blocks by clicking on the tab
icon causes the tab style to disappear (or at least turn white on
white). Tabs may be set on the ruler, but adjusting them leaves a
black trail, obliterating the ruler. All artifacts go away upon moving
to another slide, but are completely reproducible every time a slide
is edited.

I’ve not been able to find any mention of this behavior on Microsofts
websites. After using Powerpoint since v1 so many years ago (much
preferred the old Aldus Persuasion at the time), this is quite
annoying! Has anyone else experienced such problems and have a fix?

This is with Powerpoint X, Service release one, on a DP G4 running
Panther, 10.3.8.

Hi,

Have you tried the same things in PowerPoint 2004? The redraw problems
may have been reduced or eliminated by now. You can download a free
trial from the Microsoft web site http://www.microsoft.com/mac/
