Color of Simple Text Shadow?

PowerPoint 2004 Mac OS X

I type in text and click on the shadow button in the font palette. It
is making my shadow light grey. I want it black. I can't find any
place at all that lets me change the color of that shadow.

I see the soft shadow attributes, but my client is on PowerPoint 2003,
which doesn't support soft shadows, so I need to use the simple text
shadow.

Anyone have a clue how to do this?
