OS X "Optimizing fonts" Every Time I Launch

Hello,

OS X 10.4.1
PowerPoint 11.1.1

MS Office applications all launched very quickly on my G5 before I
upgraded to Tiger. Now, they all take a long time to launch. They all
say "Optimizing Fonts..." on the startup screen for a while, every
single time I launch.

I have the latest update, which is from March 2005.

Any ideas?
