Receipt Printer Not Cutting?

I can't figure out how to get our printers to automatically cut the receipt
after the credit card portion (before it continues into the customers copy
of receipt).

Currently it's just one long receipt tape that we manually rip after the
whole thing prints.

I know this is possible because at the very end of a normal receipt, the
printer does make the cut.

Thoughts? Ideas?
Nick

Hi Nick,

Check in Store Manager\Database\Registers\Receipt
Formats\Properties\Properties\
Receipt Cut Percent (OPOS) 100.

Hope its work.

Well I checked the areas that you speak of and I have the following:

Paper Cut Percent (OPOS) 100%
CC Paper Cut Percent (OPOS) 100%

Yet it still doesn't seperate (cut), in the middle of our item receipt and
CC receipt.

Thoughts?

Nick

Are you using OPOS or Windows Drivers for you receipt printer?
I am going to hazard a guess and say Windows Drivers.
The Paper Cut and CC Paper Cut won't make any difference those are only for
OPOS.
The problem is when the print job is sent to the printer it is sent as one
document and your Printer is probably set to cut after each document and not
after each Page.
You can set it to cut after each Page which will cut between the CC receipts
BUT it will also cut 2/3 of the way down your Z reports.

You're correct in that we are using the Windows drivers. We are using the
Epson TM IV printers. I assume that there must be a setting in the printer
settings to adjust this? I'll go take a peek...

Is OPOS the recommended driver format? What are the benefits of an OPOS
driver, and where would I get those drivers?

Thanks so much!
Nick

Check in your Printer Preferences Advanced Settings you should be able to
find where to set the cutting based on Document and/or Page.

It really depends on who you talk to.
OPOS has it's limitations like wrapping text over 2 lines.
I have setup both and to be honest if setup correctly they both do the job
they are designed for.

Rob,

You're awesome. Thanks for the help. We've had sales associates manually
ripping the receipts for the last 3 years. It was that simple setting on the
printer side document vs. page settings and it's now all fixed.

Much obliged,
Nick

Theres goods and bads of each driver, the opos driver receipt is very
generic looking and doesnt really use all the nice windows fonts available..

Windows drivers have the ability to print nice clean receipts with nice
fonts

I have the same issue but I'm not finding anything obvious to change, what did
you change to get it to cut in the middle instead of after every page or only
at the end?
