At POS when we post a transaction, it sometimes takes up to 10 seconds for
the receipt to be printed. Can anyone suggest why this has started
happening? Our hardware isnt top spec, but its not terrible either. This
seems to have gotten a lot worse very recently.

Thanks

Are you using windows or OPOS printer drivers?

OPOS printers, but i dont think this is the issue, i have used them for
years and the slowness has only started in the past few weeks...

Im going to archive old transactions from my SO database and see if that
helps resolve this..

I've had that kind of delay when the default printer is a windows
printer connected to another PC and that PC is not turned on.
It seems to not matter that the POS PC uses an OPOS printer. I guess
it wants to use the windows printer to render an image of the receipt.
The solution was to create a local windows printer with anything
available, even Microsoft fax.

Hi Philip

Are you running any add on modules on your system?
