Hi All,

I work with a Franchise group head office and we are trying to set up all of
our stores with generic security settings. I have set security level 30 to
have no restrictions at all, but do not know how to stop anyone with
administrator rights changing to this one security level. They will need to
change between the other 29 security levels depending on the cashier if they
are sales staff or manager or store owner. Unfortunately I cannot block them
from changing security levels entirely, or that would solve my problem, I
just need to block them from being able to change anyone to level 30. Any
help would be great
Thanks

Meagan,
Unfortunately, I don't know if there can be a built-in solution to this
problem. I would suggest shutting down the ability for anyone to change
this field and then just use the copy function, but then all you'd have
to do is copy and administrator. All I can see is two options. Lock
out cashier editing to all but those you trust to do the right thing.
Or as an alternative, you could have a custom module created that would
only allow administrators to change these fields.

We could certainly create such a module for you and if you were
interested, I'd be more than happy to whip up an estimate for this.
Just shoot me an email if you'd like more information.

Thank you,

You probably need to do this in an external program.
If you need help let me know.

You can set the security on the Cashier tab and disable change for your other
29 levels for the item "Security Level." That would stop them from being
able to change to it. However, it does not stop them from being able to go
in and create a New Cashier with your level. It's probably only a matter of
time till they figure that out.
