and I have good experiences with the Bluetooth module from Emtec or
Socket (different name, same thing). That one operates, like the type
says, through Bluetooth, wireless, which makes it also usefull when on
foot or on (motor)bike....

IMHO a Bluetooth GPS is the most adaptable and has better performance than a
CF GPS unit. See our site for reviews.

I second that. I've a BT receiver from GlobalSat and I am very happy with
it.

I have just picked up a bluetooth GPS from stensons in the US ( I am in
Canada ). In addition to this, I am using the Destinator software from
Destinator1 I looked and looked and the best 2 I liked were co-pilot and
Destinator

What does the method of data interconnect have to do with performance??

I have had a BT Delorme and found it to be very unhandy as always seemed
the rx was somewhere else from the PPC.

Was really great if you did not have to move around.

Nothing to do with the method of connection. Because a BT GPS can be placed
in the optimum position of signal reception they often outperform other
types, this has been seen many times, the only ones with similar performance
are the GPS mice. Because a BT GPS is not tied to a 12v power supply it's
more adaptable.

You're in the minority if you find them inconvenient, it's certainly not
borne out in my experience :)

That's a re-badged Emtac GPS Jacket. Although jacket type GPS units are not
as good as other types the Emtac is a big improvement on Navman's jacket,
stronger reception and faster TTFF. We have reviewed this unit on our
website. See http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/emtacsleeve.php

I would use a blue tooth mouse instead! Totally seperate from the
unit, in cars with metal shielded windscreen dump it on the back
window, in Trucks or Motorhome put it up the sun roof. The royaltek
even logs trackpoints in the mouse.
