Hi

In the next few weeks I plan to replace my 3 year old Ipaq 3630 with a
Ipaq 5450.

I have 2 No. serial cradles (1 at home 1 at office), 1 No. usb cradle
a CF Jacket and 3 No. A/c adaptors and 2 No. 12v car adaptors, will
any of these work OK with a 5450

I'd guess that the cradles may not, possible the CF Jacket won't but
the A/c and car chargers should be OK but want to make sure so I can
also order any new ones when I order the Ipaq.

Also I have 2 leather cases - one for Naked Ipaq and one for the Ipaq
with the CF Jacket - will these fit the 5450.

Regards,

Steve.

Actually the CF Jacket will work but you were right that the cradles will
not. The connector on the bottom is different. The cases should also work
without a problem. I don't think the chargers will work without a special
adapter tip either, but the tip should be cheaper. I hope someone will
correct me if I'm wrong.

I have thought about making the same type of switch from a 3670 to the 5450
as well. Kind of waiting to see if there is any truth to the PocketPC 2003
rumors as well as waiting for HP to adopt the PXA255 chipset like the latest
Toshiba.

That depends on how Steve intends to use it. The new iPAQ comes with
one adapter to connect the charger to the device. You only need it for
a direct charger/device connection. If the charger is being connected
to one of the cradles, the adapter is not required.
