My apologies if you are using a Windows Mobile Device, PocketPC, Smartphone
etc, but your question implies you are not.

So, probably the best thing to do is post in a group that could help. Note
this is for pocketpc.multimedia.

I would go for a standard multimedia group like one of the
microsoft.public.windowsmedia groups. I would add what version of the OS you
are using and what you are doing when you get the errors, like opening Media
Player, or what.

First thing to do is go to the website of your PC manufacturer and search
there. You should be able to find the drivers (look for audio drivers),
download and then install them.

\I found the problem...I got sound max and the sound analog driver was
missing...analog audio...the driver is provided by microsoft...driver
version5.1.2600.0........its in your communications port.....
......(C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\serenum.sys)..........also......\serial.sys

I uninstalled my audio driver, not realizing what it was. I followed Cari's
suggestion and went to Acer's website. Sure enough, they had my driver
listed. I was able to download it, extract it, run the "install new hardware
wizard" and now my audio is working again. Below is the link to the page
from which I downloaded the driver.
