Folks,

I have got my hands on a pre-release WM5 device (no phone) to test our
enterprise setup. It looks like the security polices that were not
implemented for non-phone devices in WM2003 are now enforced. This means
that our provisioning using xml and rapiconfig is failing at a number of
points. I cannot even query the security policies to see what the settings
are (I get access is denied ). While I am looking at a pre-release device,
and I will follow up with the vendor to see if the production devices will be
the same, I am keen to know if anyone has had similar issues and what if
anything can be done to overcome them.

Thanks.

The default RAPI policy is now "restricted". You can write a quick utility
app that runs on the device and calls DMProcessConfigXML to set it to
"open". That usually clears up most problems. If not, can you post your
rapiconfig input/output here?

Robert,

Many thanks. That has certainly resolved the rapiconfig issue. As always
this has lead to another question which I have posted in a new thread.
