I have developed a proxy for PDA. Its major function are:
1. Web Layout Optimizer
- web page reformat automatically for small screen device
- no need to rewrite web page for PDA (1 source only)
- minimize horizontal scrolling
- replace image with meaningful text
- reduce page length
- preserve data oriented table

You are welcome to try this proxy with PocketPC:
address: 202.64.203.156 port 8080
I have tested this and found the web layout transcoding is very useful for a
better browsing on PDA.
And, the web downloading time using this proxy with 14.4 kbps GSM is very
close to 64kbps CDMA.
If you would like to test it, try to use a iPAQ.
