Hi there,

I been using the Visual Studio Installer and I have this problem. I develop
a package and build the installation. I am now providing
upgrades to the package and I every new release double clicking on the setup
brings up the maintence window for the previous release.
The user now has to manually remove the existing package and then re-install
the new one. What is going on?

I been reading the messages and it just seem incredible complex the Visual
Studio Installer and ORCA. I tried using ORCA and it list tables after
tables and no help on the action or the sequence.

All I want is an easy method for the user to upgrade their application in a
single click. I also look at patching and it seems complex just to create a
upgrade package.

What the Installer should do is if it detects existing application package,
ask to remove the package and if the reply is "Y", remove the installation
and begin with the new installation.

Robert

Visual Studio Installer-

Change the upgrade GUID - still brings up maintence window
Change the product code - Multiple version of the same product?
ORCA - No luck
