Error 1911: Could not register type library for file "dao2535.tlb"

Hi.

I'm having a problem where I receive the error message, "Error 1911.
Could not register type library for file C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\DAO2535.TLB.

I tried using a merge module for DAO from www.installsite.org, but
that doesn't seem to do the trick. I believe I've seen this in the
past and have corrected it, but cannot for the life of me remember
what I did.

Any help is greatly appreciated, as the posts I've found do not make
much sense.

Can you register the type lib manually? Use regtlib from VC6.

I think I've seen reports that this is because the merge module contains COM extraction for
da0350.dll which conflicts with the type library registration in some sense. Search for 1911 on
installshield.community.com. I would also go to the author of the merge module or ask about the
issue at installsite.org.

load up Orca and check your typelib table. I ran into this problem
when my typelib CLSID was the same as a class CLSID.
