Hi All,

I'm getting:

Error 1315: Unable to write to the specified folder D:\Program
Files\TestInstall\

error while trying to deinstall my small test app (one exe file) installed
using .msi package prepared with MS VS Installer..

Does anybody know how to fix this problem? (My search on Internet (google)
and on MS site didn't give me any clues how to solve this puzzle). Any hints
will be greatly appreciated!

It happens on W2K SP2 (I believe I've MS Installer 2.0 on it). On WinXP it
works OK.

TIA,
Shamil

I hope so - msi has written my test .exe there on installation of my test
package..
I can write other files in this directory manually, I can delete them too.

You haven't by any chance done something in your MSI file that's making it create the actual Program
Files folder, have you?

I think Michael was asking you to explicitly look at ther security settings on the relevant folders
on systems where it works and fails. Are there any differences?

Q306986 is about Office installation, but that's your scenario.

Ok, well I'd start by validating the msi file and running it again (on a clean
machine) with verbose logging enabled.
