I'm having a problem related to the quick launch toolbar after installation
of my product. The systems we're installing on are dedicated systems so
there's very little on them other than our product. Consequently the only
shortcuts on the quick launch bar are the ones my installer put there. The
problem occurs after I UNinstall and then REinstall the product. After the
reinstall, the quick lanuch bar is gone. But, I discovered that it's just
been turned off. From the right click menu on the task bar I can turn the
quick launch bar back on and then it's fine. However, I don't think I should
have to do that.
My speculation is that when the uninstall process takes all the icons off
the quick launch bar (leaving it empty) it turns it off - or perhaps Explorer
is doing that, I don't know. But, when shortcuts are added to an empty tool
bar nothing turns it on.
So my question for the group is this: How can I make the installer turn on
the quick launch toolbar? Alternatively, I have custom actions that run an
exe, so theoretically I could do it programatically if I knew how... Any
suggestions?
Thanks,
Craig
