Hi!

I don't know if this is the best newsgroup to write my questions about the
AntiVirus API (described in
the WebWorkshop).

Could anyone tell me where to find (or send to my email address) some sort
of sample program
demonstrating the use of the AntiVirus API, because I couldn't create any
real component that
Office would load and use as described in the AntiVirus API.

My other problem is with CATID, component categories. Under
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Component Categories\{ .... some GUID .... }\
are listed the components that belong to that CATID, and they have a
number in front of them, like 409 or 800. I was unable to determine what
these
mean... (I mean a value with name 800 and a value of _Printing Object or
something
like that)

Thanks for any help

Leonard

For the second question, these are locale specific descriptions of the
categories. The components implementing a particular category are
not listed under its entry.

I think you should check out http://www.opswat.com/ there are 2 or 3 products that may be a match, I think that OESIS Framework at http://www.opswat.com/products/oesis-framework provide a single interface to many antivirus packages, another option is I think Metascan at http://www.opswat.com/products/metascan which is more for ISV, I also found that many antivirus engines certified by OPSWAT at http://www.opswat.com/certified.

I hope this helps.

Brian
