Assuming your account's been working with those same settings for a while
and this is only a sudden, new problem:

Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application. It provides no
additional protection, it may be causing the problem, and even Symantec says
it's not necessary:

<QP>
Disabling Email Scanning does not leave you unprotected against viruses that
are distributed as email attachments. Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect scans
incoming files as they are saved to your hard drive, including email and
email attachments. Email Scanning is just another layer on top of this. To
make sure that Auto-Protect is providing the maximum protection, keep
Auto-Protect enabled and run LiveUpdate regularly to ensure that you have
the most recent virus definitions.

Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email

What I finally realized after looking at about a million or so different
sites and pages, my incoming and outgoing mail servers only stated
"verizon.net", I had to add yahoo to the mix so they read
"yahoo.verizon.net", now everything is fine. Somehow the last time that I
shut down, something got changed. Thanx

BTW how do I disable email scanning by my Norton anti-virus application?

Then the account had never worked with those settings.

Now, can you send a message from your name@(yahoo.)verizon.net account to
your name@(yahoo.)verizon.net account successfully using OE?

Contact Norton/Symantec Support.

If I understand your question correctly, yes. In the past I don't think iw
ould deliver the message, although it would remain in the Sent Folder.

I've been in contact with Norton/Symantec Support in the past, I think I'll
pass on that suggestion. Thanx :)
