OE minimizes screen

When I open my inbox and click on a message, the screen minimizes. When I left
click it will enlarge but immediately minimize again. When I right click it
will stay full screen. This began after I did a defrag using Cleverbridge
TuneUp program which took a couple of hours but was the most complete defrag I
have ever seen. I assume there is a connection here but don't know what to
do.

Any suggestions?

Did the Cleverbridge TuneUp program include a registry cleaner? When you say
the screen minimizes, do you mean a smaller screen, or minimizes to the
Taskbar?

Tuneup is among other things basically a registry cleaner. I have used it
frequently. It comes with a defrag program called "O&O Defrag Professional"
which I had never used before. Since I used it to defrag, the minimized
problem has occurred which after a couple of seconds drops any message, any
other website or any change to a different screen to the task bar. Right
clicking the task bar icon brings the item back full screen. Not a major
problem, only a nuisance.

I personally would never use any program like this on a machine of mine. I
don't understand how a defrag could do anything to OE, but definitely a
registry cleaner. They cause more problems than they fix.

At this point, the only suggestion I have is to create a new identity and
see if the problem persists using the new identity only.

You may have a damaged identity especially if it is the default Main
Identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create a new one and test it.
If all is well, you can import your messages and Address Book from the old
identity and delete it.

Note: Do not use the word Main in the name of the new identity.

A pointless forum post, written by the same folks who tout the same
misinformation you are doing, meaning severely biased.

In addition, the OP mentioned nothing about having used a registry
cleaner so you ignored the query completely in order to spout your

There are differences between defragging, optimizing (neither of which
are likely to cause the stated behavior) and "tuning up" which often
means registry changes which can cause all sorts of strange behaviors.
Users should be very careful with cleaners. Back up your registry before
using them just in case something goes awry. The OP's statement about
the "...most complete defrag..." makes me think much more than a defrag
and disk optimization were attempted.

To the OP - restore your registry from the backup you (or the
Cleverbridge program) made before modifications were made to the
registry.

Looking at the Cleverbridge Tune Program utilities, and without further information from the op the registry cleaner function in
that program would seem to be a likelier source.

It would also be appropriate that, if used, one might suggest to 'undo' anything that Cleverbridge impacted...which makes more
sense than your entire input to date.
