Does not load

Could someone advise please. When I try to use outlook 97 a window appears
saying that I have performed and "Illegal Operation". If I try to load any
of it's features eg note, Calender, tasks etc. they load but after a few
seconds the "Illegal" window appears."

I have uninstalled outlook the program using the uninstall method and then
reinstalled to no avail. Not even it's self repair was successful. Short of
uninstalling the entire Office 97 SP2 is there anything I can do to get it
working.

At one time it was operational but am at a loss as to why it no longer
functions other than a file being corrupted due to a power failure (which we
often get) or a shared file deletion.

I would appreciate any help and/or suggestions.
