I've actually posted this message before, but couldn't get any response. So
I'd like to post it again.
I'm using Outlook Express to check my emails. I used to use it to check my
hotmail account as well. But now for some reasons that I don't know. I can't
do the same anymore. I tried to mail the hotmail help center but they also
can't solve it for me. Can some one tell me how to do it?
Another qurry is I have a password for my identity for my OE to order not to
let my nice but funny flatmates manage to view my emails, though I know it
is actually not quite safe. I found that once I've open OE, after key in the
password, it'd open directly to my inbox even I've closed it. It has to be
prompted again for password unless I restart my computer. What should I do
then?
Thanks a lot,
Alex
We've got the same problem with Hotmail over here. We've installed a
firewall and ever since, we can't get to hotmail. From what I understand,
Hotmail wants to use Port 80 to check mail. Hotmail says it doesn't support
checking mail on Outlook using a proxy server. Our filter/firewall acts as a
proxy server.
Secondly, on your Outlook Express email account, you should be able to go to
File, Identities, Manage Identities - highlight your identity and go to the
Properties button and check the box to require a password - it will have you
set a password there.
Hope that's helpful,
Kc Morris
