The current architecture here is NT server and Win9x Clients (each with
Office 2000 Pro installed.)
I'd like to Move the actual Outlook data files (Oulook.pst etc) off to a
shared drive, each user has their own share(mapped in an NT logon script)
which is always H: As our system deployment strategy is based around
cloning PC's (We work in a multilingual office, the PC's get reinstalled
quite a lot) I just need to set this up once and then deploy the image with
this Outlook build in it.
We're not using MS Exchange here, simply POP3 access to an internal
Email host (MDaemon) and most of the tools pertaining to this kind of task
involve Exchange.
Having looked at some of the documentation from 3rd party and MS I am
pretty sure that (please correct me otherwise) the file I need to setup
correctly is a .PRF file wherein the file locations are held. Can I modify
my existing PRF file to take account of this or do I need to use a
deployment tool to set this up. Or is there another way?
Any help / hints / suggestions will be most welcome
