Everyone in my organization uses Office 97 and we are all connected over a
network.

My boss wants to have access to all of our MS Outlook calendars from his
desktop. Not a problem for anyone of us but I am not sure how to set it up.

I reviewed the help file and it explained how I can go about sharing my
calendar with him as a "public folder" but that necessitates him going to
"File"..."Open Special Folder" each time he wants to see what I have
scheduled which can be a lot of work (you all know what bosses can be like).

What I would like to know is, is there a way we can share our individual
calendars with the boss in such a way that they show up as items on his
folder list that he can just click on without having to take the steps
outlined above? I seem to recall that there is a way that is easier for him
to use.

Any constructive help would be much appreciated.

The only real answer is MS Exchange. This kind of functionality is built in.
Obviously if the organisation is not big enough, or doesn't have the budget
for it, the sharing option is the only way.

There is a reply which suggests putting the shortcut on the desktop, as you
can't add the shortcut as a folder. Better still, put the shortcut on the
Outlook Bar.

are you using exchange server? if yes, he can open your mailboxes in his
folder tree by adding them in the tools | services, exchange server
properties, advanced tab. He can only see the folders you give him
permission for.

Wonderful Diane. I think that may solve the problem. I'll tinker with it
tomorrow.
