outlook not saving sent items

My boss is running outlook 97 on windows nt 4 machine.
Was fine until yesterday, when "despite nothing happening out of the
ordinary" it is now suddenly not saving anything in Sent Items. Checked the
Sending options and the Save sent items thing is checked and indicates it
will save messages in sent items

So, does anybody have any ideas of what could be causing this confusion.??
Looked in Outlook Help and it said to ensure the Save messages in Sent Items
box is checked...Dah!

The PC had the wrong date and had been saving them all along....
