I recently upgraded from Win98se to Win2KP and now each time I login to my
computer I must specify a username, domain and password for Outlook. Didn't
do this before.

Anyone?

Thanks

Robert

See if these knowledgebase article work for you:
You need to check what mode you're in check here Help > About 2nd line
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q275/4/65.asp for Corporate
/Workgroup mode
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q259/4/16.ASP for Internet
Only mode

If though you mean Outlook 2002 then there is an update available which
includes a fix for the Password prompt, the fix is available here:

Make sure you're logging into the domain and not the local computer under
2K.

Spoke too soon. Still get the username/domain/password prompt when loading
Outlook 2000.

Any other ideas?

Sorry should have asked if you're connecting to Exchange Server, if you are
see if changing you're (or verify) NT Logon Security helps. Go to Tools >
Services > Highlight Microsoft Exchange Server > Properties > Advanced tab >
Logon network security field dropdown.

Thanks for all the help Robert. The option is set to "NT Password
Authentication". Discovered something else strange. I have 2 NT boxes. My
PDC and an Exchange/Proxy box. Both run NT 4. Before upgrading my client to
Win2K, I could log into either computer. But now, I cannot log into the
Exchange/Proxy box unless I specify the Admin password.

Did Win2K trash this, or do I need to configure something else now that I'm
on Win2K?

Robert

Saw something similar to this but it was Win 2K not seeing a win 98 SE box
without having to enter the password, I "think" (it was over 6 months ago)
that you needed to add the Win 98 user to Users and Passwords on the Win 2K
box. Cannot test it here (totally Win 2K).
