I can connect using POP, but I want to be able to use the full capabilities
of the Outlook Client with the Exchange Server, such as being able to
manipulate folder and to access public folders.
I think Outlook uses RPC calls to get the full functionality, but I want to
verify this. I found that a "courier" protocol, 530/tcp, was related to
rpc in my services file, so I added that to the protocols allowed by the
Proxy server. This change alone has not done the trick.
I also examined the wspclnt.ini files located in two exchange directories.
These files somehow bind certain ports to the Proxy Server allowing data to
pass through the Proxy Server to the Exchange Server. To the outside world
it appears that the Proxy Server is the exchange server.
I have not modified the files yet. I was thinking that the file associated
with store.exe would be the one to modify. If I add the correct port to this
file I think I should be able to use standard rpc calls from the outlook
client.
I want to check around and see if any of you know how to accomplish my
task. Any ideas?
