Greetings -

Not sure if this should be an "add-in" question or not but I figured I would
try here first. I have been wanting to add the date and time to my
messages (current date/time sent) just like I can add my signature. This
would be using MS Outlook 2000. Is there a way to do this? If it involves
programming, I would certainly like to take a crack at it - but would also
consider anyone's advice on checking into a 3rd party product which would do
that. I am thinking its going to be some sort of COM add-on but I am not
totally sure and just beginning to scratch the surface with the idea.

Any suggestions or direction would be extremely helpful and much
appreciated!!

Anthony

Anthony,

This can be accomplished in a program called Email Templates
(www.emailtemplates.com).

Try the 30-day free trial found at:
http://www.emailtemplates.com/et/download.aspx

Simply open a new mail message to create a new template. Customize the
template by adding the subject line and any elements you want Outlook to
automatically insert into your email. Elements can include contact name,
address, personal signature, etc. You can also set recipients to CC or BCC,
importance, sensitivity, email account to send from, etc.

When creating a template, include the following in your template: &date;

This will tell Email Templates to insert the date into your email every
time.

After clicking 'Save', simply apply the template to an existing contact,
reply to a message, or create a new email using your customized template.

Hope this helps,

Holly R. - ET
