This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97, 98, 2000 & 2002 from the Office
family for Intel PCs. For Outlook Express (OE) support try posting in one of
these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

I can receive messages with no problems on my server. When
I try to send something, one of the error messages I get
is as follows:
The connection to the server has failed.
Account:'mail.kiatis.com',Server:'mail.kiatis.com',Protocol
;SMTP, Port 25, Secure(SSL):no, Socket error: 10051, Error
Number:0x800CCC0E

I've tried changing some of the settings under
Tools/Accounts/Settings, such as making sure the
incoming/outgoing servers are the same. No luck.
Somebody please shed some light on this for me.

All at once the other day, every email that I have
received with a graphics attachment gives me a message
that reads: OE has removed access to the following unsafe
attachments in your mail. I am not able to open the

have graphic attachments, also do not allow me to open the

what the problem is, but to no avail. Help anyone!

Hi;

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD ANTIVIRUS PROGRAM.

Open Outlook Express.
Click on Tools and select Options.
Select the Security tab.
Remove the checkmark from the "Do not allow attachments to
be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus.
Click OK at bottom of window.
Close Outlook Express.
Open outlook Express, and the attachments can now accessed.

Are there any other possible reasons for that. The reason I ask is that we
have a product which is distributed by e-mail, and occasionally (Not
regularly, but some times), we get calls from people saying that when
opening the attachment, nothing happens.

Apparently, it just doesn't seem to initiate. The only common thread I could
find between the support calls was that they are all running Outlook
Express.

(Apologies in advance to those who are unhappy about OE posts to this site,
but the thread was on it.)

Click on security tab.
Remove check from box by "Do not allow attachments to be

Click on apply.
Click on OK.
This worked for me. Good luck. I'll bet you did an
