Hi there,

Is it possible to add a column to my inbox list where I can see if the
sender of the message has enabled read and/or delivery acknowledgment
to his/her message?

Daniel

No--this isn't something accessible through the Outlook Object Model.

This field is actually available in Outlook2000.

Beejay - is this in the RTM Outlook 2000? I am still using the CPP Beta
version.

I thought there might be something like this, since I saw a neat
utility here..
http://www.grinningshark.com/WatchYourBack.htm

I wonder how they do it if there is nothing in the object model..

Product Features
Detects read-receipts on incoming messages
Detects read-receipts on any messages in your inbox
Detects read-receipts on already opened messages
Removes/disables read-receipts on any message
Automatically removes read-receipts from any message
Alerts you when a read-receipt message appears in the inbox
Optionally blasts senders with a pile of read-receipts when one is
detected
Can be run as a task-bar icon or a standalone application

Entirely possible I am mistaken, Daniel. I would tend to agree with
you--if a third-party app is making use of the functionality, it most
likely IS accessible through the OOM.

Hot diggity dog - a new toy for me to play with. Thanks for the heads up
about the field chooser. Quite a few handy little items in the all mail
field. Now you have given another way to do non-productive work at the
office <G>.

There's a sample somewhere which adds an RRR field to the inbox. I
think it was first designed for the Exchange client, worked under 97
OK and Worked under 98 too I believe (but might have needed to be
installed under C/W mode). I think it used to be at the old app farm.
It notified you that a receipt was requested, but not much you could
do about it.
