I have the same problem.. The "solution" for me was to go into logitech's
control panel for my wheel mouse and check "Use MS office compatible scroll
only." For me this fixed the problem that the inbox mail list scrolled at
the same time as the msg being previewed, but this caused another problem.
Checking this box as I mentioned disables scrolling of the address book when
viewed by clicking the address book icon on the toolbar. So you fix one
thing and break another.. This is ridiculous and I demand that MS address
this problem.. The FREE OE 6.x and EVERY version prior that I have used
doesn't have scrolling of the address book die like this.. What is with
all this finicky scrolling in Outlook 2002. I read that this problem
existed in Outlook 2000 as well. This is overdue for a fix!!
Also, the reason you only see the scrolling of the inbox list happen
occasionally, is because it only scrolls incorrectly like this when you are
trying to scroll an html message. Scroll a plain text message and the inbox
list will stay put no matter what settings you have checked in the mouse
control panel. At least that is my experience (and I read this somewhere
else on USENET)
