version and what kind of protection are you seeking?

you want the security feature known a "HELL" - it prevents that behavior and
is built-in SP2 or available as a separate download for SP1. It's the email
security update released in June of 2000.

if you can trust yourself not to open attachments, it's not necessary
though - but if you are worried you might be tempted to open attachments,
it's will stop it. :)
