Hi,

Got email with attachment containing blank attach message ? How to resolve
this issue. Using Outlook 2002 with Exchange 2003 SP2, sender possibility
using newer version of office and exchange. I had hear is a setting on the
sender email server that is causing this to happen. What recommendations is
to be set on sender server?

Thank in advance,

S.

Hi IT boy

maybe the "attachment" is in the list of "blocked" attachments on the sender
site or on your site.

Have a look on this site:

"How to configure Outlook to block additional attachment file name
extensions"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/837388/en-us

If they send you a ".zip" or a winrar file, does this works?

Thank you for responding.
No I don't thing is Outlook blocking it, because I had try getting another
member from our office sending me a attach email message e.g. a message with
a .msg as attachment without problem.

Thank,

S.

define "blank attach message" - it could be antivirus or antispam software
removing attachments, content manager removing it per company policy, a
messed up winmail.dat.... probably a few things I'm missing.

it's not blocked in outlook- you'd see a warning message if it was. Mire
likely is one of the servers is blocking or removing it. Have the sender
send it as an attachment to plain text message - if they are using RTF it
may be getting deleted.

Thanks,
The attach .msg according to the sender it contain a normal type in message
only.
So I think antivirus and antispam is out.

Hi Diane,

Yes, but not every user registrate this message or post this information.
;-)

You ask for "define "blank attach message", so you made the same experiences
about "descriptions".

My email is "empty" is not the same as "I do not see anything". ;-)

This was the reason why I asked for.

Hi S.,

are you using any "Outlook add.ins"?

>Using Outlook 2002 with Exchange 2003 SP2

Have a look to: "Tools | Options | Further | Advanced Options | Add-In
Manager or COM Add-Ins.

What add-ins were in the lists?

Any spam or virus protection software?

Oliver,
Thank for replying.
No add ins..
Mcfee antivirus desktop and server .
Yes Spam server, but I been asking they say it will not take part of an
email out and will take the whole one.
I had hear that it may be the email left the sender with an empty message as
a attachement, becuase their email system take it off by antivirus or spam
software.
