I have not found answers to the following questions
so I hope that this will not be too banal.

1. Autocompleting Email Addresses.
In Out Ex obvious - in Outlook (other than Control Names) ??
How to enable this feature ?
2. Autosaving Email Addresses to Address Book.
In Out Ex obvious - in Outlook ??
3. Saving Attached Files outside the default area.
Eg : Not in the pst but in x:\Email\Attached\
4. Viewing OLE's.
In Out Ex immediate - in Outlook ??

Here I am not speaking of Security risks of Autoopen
Doc's, macros, scripts etc.
Even the simple 'jpg's remain icons.
A client of mine desires to see a preview of the images
on arrival.
Hunting around the Outlook options I have not found these.
Perhaps a reg key business.

Thanks

1 - Outlook doesn't do auto-complete. It has a feature called
auto-resolution. If you enter part of a name or a nickname then tab out of
the field (or hit Alt-K [Check Names]), Outlook will attempt to resolve the
name against your address book. If it can't it'll red underline it and you
can right click on the name to manually resolve it. Outlook will save the
resolution for future use.

2 - In OL98/2000 in Internet Mail Only mode check that option here: Tools
menu > Options > E-mail

3 - There's no automatic built-in way to do this but you can use CaSaveAtt
to do this in conjunction with the Rules Wizard:
http://www.ornic.com/actions/casaveatt.shtml

4 - What's an OLE (other than Object Linking & Embedding)? Outlook's Preview
Pane only shows images in HTML mail items and OLE embedded objects in RTF
mail items. To view other attachments you either have to open them in their
native application or use QuickView (especially helpful if you've got
QuickView Plus from Inso).

Hello and thanks for a complete and efficient reply.
The strange thing for me is that Outlook and Outlook Express were
of the same parents .. and the smaller sibling has more to offer in
some regards than its big brother !?

Why ?
For such simple things as Auto complete, Email addons and recognition of
JPG's.

As stated below and before this was considered but it is not the same thing
as Autocomplete ... ~ Access Query VBA etc

That is ? I looked there and E-mail advanced.

How come a JPG is available in Express and not in Outlook ?
There's really no way ??

You're going forward from a false assumption... Outlook & Outlook Express
are not from the same parents. What should have been MS Internet Mail & News
2.0 was renamed 'Outlook Express' to give MS's mail packages the impression
of belonging to a family. They've got two different code bases and
development teams.

Now that is really interesting. I have found it frustrating that there
is so much disparity between the three "Outlook" clients (O.E., OWA,
and OL2k). In fact, I discovered while I was at MEC2k that OWA was
never "really" intended to be used under production load.. it was
mainly just some sample code tossed in to demonstrate how a developer
could use ASP's to query a mailbox on exchsrvr and render HTML views of
the results to be parsed by a browser. That "ah ha!" helped to explain
why OWA is so insufferably lacking in fundemental features. Now I have
some understanding of O.E.'s lack of features as well.

Thanx.

Well yes ok, parents here I meant Ms and Windows + the implications of
relations to the old Post Office and eventual VBA.
Anyway I still do not understand why ms did not employ the simple before
mentioned options of Express in Outlook 97,98,2000.
Many clients of mine have got frustrated with such short comings.
A pity since the Address book + contact list with diary is quite pleasing.

Thanks.
