Archiving Emails with Outlook Express

Does anyone know how to archive emails from Outlook
express? I went to help within outlook express and it
instructed me to compact the folders and then copy them to
a disk. I did that. Now i can't figure out how to read
them later. I tried several different applications, but
all I get is junk.

Microsoft Outlook is a different program than Outlook Express.
This news group is focused on Microsoft Outlook not Outlook
Express.

The differences of these email programs:

OUTLOOK EXPRESS, included as part of Microsoft Internet

required by many home and small-business users.

OUTLOOK, provides comprehensive integrated e-mail,
including information management and collaboration capabilities,
required by a wide spectrum of users from home to small
business to large enterprise.

These are two different programs. You would have much better
response by asking this on (depending upon your version):

microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6.outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE

To find your version:

Open OUTLOOK EXPRESS
Select HELP from the menu on top
Select ABOUT MICROSOFT OUTLOOK EXPRESS
